1&1 Webhost is the best webhosts i’ve ever had.
Cheap, fast, good support is just some of the words i can use for this company.
You get alot of coupons for marketing your website, 24/7 support, and all the packages are really cheap.
I’ve been using 1and1.com for 2 years. And my page have never been down!
They’r support team answers fast. I’ve talked to the thrue email around 3 times and everytime i get an answer in 6 hours.
I can’t find anything negative with 1&1 webhost.
I wanted to add one more thing. You get a program called “1&1 WebsiteBuilder” with the host. Websitebuilder program for making websites. One of the best program ive ever seen for this use. Because its so easy to understand. But if you can coding (HTML,PHP etc.) you would have no use for this program.
My experience with 1&1 hosting has varied over the 5 years that I’ve been using them. In the beginning I had many troubles setting my server up, but in the last 3 years I’ve had literally zero problems. Not once did I have any downtime or lost data. Which you wouldn’t expect from any host, but surprisingly it happens.
Another thing about 1&1 is they have TONS of coupons. I’ve got 3 GoDaddy coupons from them in the last 5 years. All this for such a great price. I pay $10 a month and lately I’ve never come close to reaching my limit on bandwidth or space needed on the server. Which is surprising. However, at one point a flash on my site got very popular and killed my bandwidth in two days, but 1&1 gave me extra bandwidth for free that month!
The only downside I’d say is their tech support isn’t the best I’ve used. It’s certainly not bad, but it’s a bit slower than some. Their initial response to your ticket is fast, only a few hours, but replies take longer. I guess this isn’t really a problem because I don’t believe you’ll have any issues.
1&1 was the first web hosting company i hosted my sites with, i found they were reliable, very cheap prices mainly because of the many vouchers and coupons they have floating around. The uptime is good and i would say their good reputation is well deserved.
The only factor that i have with 1&1 is that their customer support is somewhat lacking when compared to other hosting companies such as Hostgator. To me, the support a hosting company provides makes the company and so i feel that 1&1 lets itself down in that aspect.
1&1 also have some great add-on features that, although they cost money, they are well worth it. I also like that with 1&1 you can also purchase a domain name, this helps to keep everything compact, organised and together for me.
I am currently using a dedicated server at 1&1. The server and its features are great. The only problem that I had was with the support team. I had a technical problem which required sending 3 ((long) emails and 5 hours of live talking on the telephone until the problem was solved.
The truth is that when you have a dedicated server they assume that you can fully configure it and they will not help you at all. My problem was somewhere in the middle (something like a firewall was blocking the access to the web service) and maybe that is why it took that much.
As price I can say they are expensive – at least the dedicated server. But the quality is good.
1and1 came with a good reputation based on recommendation from a close friend and also being one of the top web hosting service provider around. But for me, it doesn’t live up to my expectations. Despite the claim as having one of the most reliable servers, I think the problem on downtime was still a major problem. Sometimes, in a week, there could at least be twice of the same occurrences and although to certain people, that might not be such a big deal but for me, yes it does. The technical support although is helpful, however at times they can be hard to reach. And finally unlike other normal web hosting companies, it’s very rare to find promotions and discount package offered by 1and1.
I have to say i use 1 & 1’s biggest web hosting package and its amazing, i get domains for as little as £2 a year!!! i mean come on that is amazing.
You rarely fidn such good package details for webhosting sites like this and the control panel is really really simple once you get the hang of it
the only downside is the mysql they have is a bit outdated for 5 weeks before a new version of mysql comes out…other than that ITS AMAZING.
Hi have taken the 1&1 webhosting account last year. I have searched for cheap and reliable webhosting..i went to 1&1 and hosted first with single site to test it. Its is cheap because the company is big one promoting by advertsings and many campaigns.
We have separate control panel for customer support. But there is no use of customer support because they never respond in intime and actually our site will be getting so many downtimes and while enquiring they are not responded properly. I even lost my data from my database but no response from there side. So we stopped our site due to loss of data. Its a worst hosting i ever seen. So better avoid it.
Well from the experience that i had with 1&1 hosting service i say they are really the worst hosting company ever.First these guys illegally save your credit card details and they even dare to bill you for the services that you have not even chosen to subscribe. So i contacted their telephone technical support but they behaved as if i was a thief or terrorist.I was never harassed like this before. But for my advantage i had recorded the entire phone conversation and have filed against this hosting company at the Better Business Bureau.Pretty soon some action will be taken against them.So guys try to stay away from this webhost as far as possible.
So far my hosting experience also includes 1and1 and personally I don’t think it is anywhere near matched with the service provided by both Bluehost and Dreamhost. The support staff although seem to be helpful, sometimes it does take a little while for them to understand my question and provide a direct answer. Nevertheless, I still managed to obtain the info, which I’m searching for. In terms of meeting my hosting requirement, I can still say that they will deliver as what they promise for the bandwidth and storage space as stated in the package. Overall I would rate them in the average group.
